Stand by

In a couple of weeks time, The Drones depart for a long run of shows throughout the U.K, Europe and Scandinavia. Perhaps documenting the various goings on of such a tour may help preserve our sanity. Perhaps nothing will. Some things are guaranteed however. There will be laughter, cuts and bruises, mystery illnesses, communication issues, minor victories, and a procession of colourful characters. Most importantly, there will be yelling at one another. These will no doubt be the best bits.

Our first show is on the 20th of April, in Cork, Ireland. I guess we just take it from there........

I would like to request some stories involving a festive amount of puking, thanking you in advance.

I remember well the Beasts tour of Europe, Spencer broke his arm in Germany. Kim did the mad amp dance 3 or four times. Every hotel was not in "the broschure". Several venues refused to pay for things, alchohol and the microphones that Tex destroyed with his trade mark "phut phut phut" during the oldies and his frustrations with the crowds. Guy's, talk to someone from Straight Jacket Fits about their last tour of Australia. A masterful band with a great history and a tour that broke them. Guitar Player, your blog, discovered linked from the website, is a wonderful read. Brings back some memories and shows me some new ones. Kim switched to a Mesa Boogie Dual Rectifier and had no probs. Think he still has one now. Nick and Nuebauten @ the festival must have been a blast. I'd have kissed em both..all of them.
From experience, hang on to the blasts, they aint as common as most believe. The rest, well unless you win Euro Songfest, thats it. Just a hunch;- Gareth in a Mankini singing a Kylie Song may just get you over the line.
Make music you Drones, its what you do so very well. saltyp@optusnet.com.au
